Day 3 of this morning business

Today was my third day of getting up at 5am to jump on the treadmill. My body seems to be going along with this change. There were a few things that I noticed I needed to pay attention to so I made a few changes. I noticed that getting up and jumping on the treadmill on an empty stomach made me worry about getting light headed once I got into the zone but I didn't want to waste time eating and then waiting to digest before working out. I also noticed that because my metabolism was cruising much higher in the morning that the bowl of cheerios was not gonna cut it until I had lunch at 12:30. I also forgot to take my vitamins since I started this new routine.

So last night I decided to set up the juicer, the cutting board, the coffee pot, a skillet, spatula, plate and fork, and all my daily vitamins. The workout clothes were also sitting ready in the bathroom so all I had to do is go in there and change without turning on the bedroom light or fumbling in the dark. My running shoes were positioned and ready to go in front of the recliner. I rolled out of bed at 5am, changed clothes, made and drank some fresh carrot/celery/apple juice, worked out for about 40 minutes, showered, made breakfast consisting of two scrambled eggs and a whole wheat english muffin, drank coffee, took my vitamins, checked my email and facebook, and then went to work.

If someone would have told me I would be doing this someday I would have laughed in their face and reminded them that I am not a morning person. I did feel pretty good today though knowing that I started my day off well and only yawned once at work all day. So far so good.

  1. You got it goin' on sister! I am going to have to hire you to be my personal trainer. That is awesome! I have often thought of getting up early to exercise, but I'm not really believing it is possible. You have proven that it is. Your routine is inspiring. And I bet you could enjoy the day knowing the workout is already done.
