Regrouping

The meal planning progress in underway. I have the next two weeks worth of dinners planned out AND I bought plenty of healthy sandwich stuff for lunches and also some frozen entrees. Part of the battle has been won! Next I want to sit down and plan the complete days menu for breakfast, lunch, dinner and snack with calories all calculated. Since I hate writing down and calculating all that stuff every time I eat, I figured I will do it every two weeks and know ahead of time how many calories everything will be for the day. If things get modified a little it won't be a big deal to adjust it. I plan on using a couple of websites that help calculate calories and serving sizes.

I weighed in today and actually saw my weight finally go down into the 280s. It was 288.8 so I just rounded up to 289. I was quite happy with it. It was the goal I wanted to be at last weekend but it's better late than never. I guess playing with the Wii is making a difference. Realizing I was putting too much pressure on myself was stressing me out. Once I let go of the idea the idea of being at 275 by Valentine's Day I was able relax and just do whatever I could day by day. I am still feeling a bit "off" but I am slowly finding my way back. I think alot of it is mental. My brain is so used to doing the old routine things that weren't so healthy that it's not responding well to the changes. I am sure that will take some time too. I have over 30 years of brain reprogramming to do. Wouldn't it be nice if we could just download the new and improved program and start using it right away?

Having the meals all planned out ahead of time will really help my nightly after work routine. It will definitely help the stress factor. I hate that preparing dinner is expected of me but I am glad that I am the one who controls the dinner we will have. I thought about making up my workout routine too but I don't want to over do it with the planning stuff. I did set a goal though of 5 days per week. My doctor said 5 days a week and not less than 45 minutes of cardio so that's what I plan on doing as a base and then moving up from there.

OK I am off to finish this meal planning stuff. Wish me luck!

  3. That's great about meal planning. It helps so much if you have a strategy. They always say - if you fail to plan, then plan to fail!

Good luck on the exercise! Hopefully the weather will be warming up and walking outside will be an option. I LOVE walking our dog, Roscoe! I'm so excited about spring!!!!!!
